How We Define Leadership Development
We define Leadership Development as a set of solutions to accelerate leaders along the Leadership Pipeline. Our services include curriculum design, program development, and program delivery. We are available to facilitate existing program content, moderate panel discussions of internal or external speakers, and orchestrate the entire program. We maintain relationships with top speakers, faculty at top business schools, and prepare internal “Leaders as Teachers” for their program roles, enabling our clients to move from concept design to implementation within 3-6 months. As needed, we provide a full spectrum of resources including project managers, web and app developers, and measurement and metrics experts.
We are frequently asked to assist organizations in the design of programs for Senior Leaders (Executive Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents), General Managers (Director, Senior Director/Executive Director, Assistant Vice President), High-potential Leaders in rotational programs, and Women in Leadership. Since many initiatives for High Potentials are jointly managed by Talent Management, Executive Development, and Human Resources, we are highly skilled at managing a variety of stakeholders in the design process and program rollout.
Our Development Process
Our work begins with a thorough understanding of your business strategy and the types of leadership learning experiences you have in place or have used in the past. The programmatic components of LD curricula frequently include developing a clearer understanding of the business strategy, development of business acumen, and core leadership development using a preferred Leadership Model to identify the leadership competencies most in need of development. Many times we supplement an online 360-assessment with a stakeholder, or verbal 360 assessment and additional psychometrics. We are certified in the best assessments for development. We advocate for linking Leadership Development to your business strategy, as every company is unique and leaders at different levels require different leadership learning experiences. We employ specific tools for analyzing your business strategy and developing curricula, including the EDA proprietary Rapid Cycle Design, and our own leadership strategy model. Program measurement is a core capability of our services, ensuring that we provide you with much more than Kirkpatrick Level 1 evaluation. If you have your own internal measurement resources, we can train them in how to collect, analyze and report program measurement.
